I first found out about New Zealand through the Internet. I was very impressed with its beauty, safety as well as the education. So my family decided to let me go here and study in a high school. This was the first time for me to travel alone without my parents. I was excited, but still nervous. Getting on the plane, transiting in Thailand for 7 hours and 11 hour flight… everything was a new experience to me. The first week was terrible. I always felt homesick and tired because I still couldn’t get used to the weather and the food. The difficulty of communication in a different language also made me nervous to start a conversation with other people. But then, the second week, the third week, I made some new friends, studied English in Kiwi English Academy, I began to feel more confident. I started to explore Auckland, talk with my home stay family and do something I used to do in Vietnam. It made me realize that New Zealanders are all kind and friendly, they always help me when I need without hesitation.
The more places I visited, the more excited I got everyday. Living alone in a new country makes you feel more mature and responsible for your life. After more than 3 months living and studying here, now I know what I need and what I want to do; who I want to be in the future. I will study hospitality management. But it’s the future, now I think I need to relax and enjoy my last day in Auckland before going back to Vietnam.

I enjoy my classmates and also the school. The teachers are nice and interesting.
I like my life in New Zealand and I’m making some friends. Now, I’m looking for a job in Auckland and after I’ll leave Auckland in January or February for travelling and work on a farm.
I stayed in a homestay for 4 weeks and I loved my family. It was very nice and friendly. She took care of me. It was very good. Now, I have been in a flat for 4 weeks, but I have plans to visit my home stay in December.
Studying at Kiwi English Academy was a very good experience and I improved my English. I met many people of different nationalities and I learned a lot about different cultures, so I enjoyed it very much.
Thanks to all the teachers!
