Shanghai Jiao Tong Rankings 2009
Five of the eight New Zealand universities have made it into the Top 500 list of the Shanghai Jiao Tong Academic Ranking of World Universities. This is a great result and reflects the highest proportion of universities in the Top 500 of any country and provides a strong indication of the quality of (higher level) education standards in New Zealand.
The rankings take into account a number of factors including the quality of research papers produced and the standing of academic staff.
The New Zealand universities which featured in the rankings were: University of Auckland, University of Otago, Massey University, University of Canterbury and Victoria University of Wellington.
